Punta de la banya

This area, located in Sant Carles de la Rápita, is home to a very fascinating environment and a very interesting fauna and flora. The badia dels Alfacs is habitat to a large number of especies of waterfowl during the winter. In addition, El Trabucador is a perfect observation point for these birds. For obvious reasons, hunting is not allowed, but shellfishing is permitted.

HOW TO GET TO LA PUNTA DE LA BANYA?

NATURE RESERVE

The Punta de la Banya, as well as El Trabucador beach, is a Partial Natural Reserve. This means that access is restricted all year long, except between July 15 and September 15. During these two months, access is possible without a vehicle. However, it is a floodable area, soit is not recommended to go with rain or strong wind.

ACTIVITIES AND VISITING AREAS

El mirador de la Punta de la Banya es troba situat al final de l’últim tram de la zona accessible a peu. Des del Mirador es pot observar els camps naturals amb molta fauna i vista a el front es poden veure les Salines de la Trinitat.

OCCASIONAL ACTIVITIES

One of the most popular temporary activities is the bird-ringing of flamingos. The objective of the ringing of these pups is to facilitate the monitoring and scientific knowledge of this species. 

In Catalonia, the Delta del Ebro is the only place where you can find this peculiar specimen of bird.
