HOW TO GET TO LA PUNTA DEL FANGAR?

HIKING ROUTE

One of the most unique places in the Delta is La Punta del Fangar or, in other words, the Delta desert.

The Delta is practically occupied by rice fields, as well as other types of green and natural areas. However, there is a desert and sandy site, characterized by its unique terrain: La Punta del Fangar.

To visit it, it is highly recommended to bring light clothing, sports shoes and a lot of water to avoid dehydration.

La Punta del Fangar is one of the most visited hiking sites in the Delta. The main reason is that the only way to get to the peninsula is on foot.

🌞 To do the route is recommended:

  • Take extra clothes in case a bit of wind comes up.
  • Wear suitable shoes to be able to walk well on the sand.
  • Take mosquito repellent.
  • Wear sun protection during the summer.
  • Bring water to hydrate during the journey

"[During the season from April to September, access to the point is limited, with only one accessible stretch in front of the beach.]"

LA FAROLETA, THE LIGHTHOUSE OF LA PUNTA DEL FANGAR

The Fangar lighthouse or La Faroleta is one of the biggest icons of the Delta.

It stands out for its large size and for being the only building in the middle of this deserted area.

La Faroleta is the only place in the Fangar where there is shade, so it is ideal for resting before or after hiking.

THE BEACH OF MIRAGES

This natural space is also known as La Playa de los Espejismos (Mirages Beach), because during the hours with the most intense sun you can see mirages of water.

HE DELTA DEL EBRO DESERT

One of the most enchanting landscapes are the Fangar dunes, which have a high natural value. These dunes are considered the largest and the best preserved of the entire Catalan coastline.

CINEMATOGRAPHIC LANDSCAPES

The Delta Natural Park has a great variety of landscapes, although one of the most special is La Punta del Fangar. The magnificent view offered by the park includes the lighthouse, the natural dunes in the middle of the Mediterranean beaches and the beach of the Fangar Bay, what makes it one of the essential natural spaces to visit.
